On Oct. 2, Alison Eisinger, left, executive director of the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness (SKCCH) registers Nickelsville resident Samuel Chapman to vote. In the past month, volunteers with SKCCH have led a voter registration drive for homeless people. People who live in Washington state and are registering for the first time can vote without a residential address: Instead, they can list a physical location, such as a street corner, along with a valid mailing address, such as a shelter. People with felony convictions who are no longer in prison or on community custody can also vote. While the SKCCH voter drive has ended, first-time registrants can still register in person at a King County Elections office in Renton or Seattle until Oct. 27. The election takes place Nov. 4.
