After months of being homeless, the Kingston Food Bank has a new home.
The food bank, run by Kingston resident Barb Fulton, moved Nov. 25 into a building at 26102 Illinois Ave. Fulton’s parents began the food bank in 1952 and ran it out of the family home. It has been without a permanent space for almost a year, after water damage forced it out of the downtown Kingston building it had occupied for years. From April to October, the food bank operated out of a motor home. It then moved into a part of Fulton’s husband’s engine repair shop (“Meals on wheels,” RC, Nov. 6). The move was facilitated by a $16,000 grant by the Pam Foster and Liz Austin Fund.
