It is refreshing to read about something Congress can do to save the lives of millions of children (“Let Congress know that funding vaccines for children will save millions of lives,” RC, Oct. 8). It will also strengthen the health care systems of developing countries, helping them to battle epidemics like Ebola. In fact, when a vaccine for Ebola is available, the system will be in place to disseminate it. So, let’s make sure Congress knows the importance of funding Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, at $250 million a year for four years. A call or an email to your representative could make the difference.
