Fri., Dec. 18, 10:24 p.m., Sobering Center, Boren Avenue. Officer was dispatched to a possible assault at the Sobering Center on Boren Ave. Upon arrival he found the complainant, a transient male aged 37, had been punched by the suspect. Victim had a cut over his right eye, which was beginning to swell. He stated he had been lying on his sleeping mat, made two popping noises with his mouth, and gone to sleep. Victim said that the next thing he knew suspect was standing over him and punched him in the eye. Suspect then apparently went back to his mat and lay down. Officer advised radio that he needed Seattle Fire Department (SFD) to respond and check out victim's injuries. The officer was able to view security footage of the incident, and clearly observed the suspect standing up, walking over to the victim, and striking him in the face. He then returned to his mat and lay back down. Officer had a clear view of the suspect striking the victim. SFD responded and treated victim at the scene, who said he was going to walk to Harborview Medical Center. Sobering Center staff escorted the suspect from the sleeping bay and he was arrested for assault and booked into King County Jail.
Mon., Dec. 21, 5:30 p.m., First Ave. S./S. Spokane St. Officers arrived at First Ave. S. and S. Spokane St. to a report of an assault. When they arrived SFD were already on the scene and were treating the victim, a transient female known to the officers. She had suffered minor lacerations to the face and told the officers she had been hit by her boyfriend in the face with a bottle during an argument. She provided officers with her personal information but would not say anything else about what had happened. She had reported to the medics that the suspect was a Native American male with short curly hair. After medics had treated her cuts victim was transported to Harborview for further evaluation.
Tues., Dec. 22, 4 a.m., Airlane Hotel, E. Marginal Way. Officers received a call regarding an assault at the Airlane Hotel on E. Marginal Way and arrived to find SFD were already on the scene. They were treating the victim, a transient female, who had a badly bruised face and was complaining of pain all over her body. She stated that the suspect -- a friend -- had invited her to stay at the hotel, and she accepted so she could spend a night out of the cold. She said the suspect repeatedly woke her up during the night for sex, which she refused. He did not force her to have sex, but he did repeatedly assault her, the last time being at 4:00 a.m. Victim stated that the suspect hit her in the face and body, and tried to strangle her. After the final assault suspect left and the victim stated she thought he was in another motel nearby. Victim was taken to Harborview and was provided with a number to call when she was ready to make a statement. Managers at the hotel were unable to identify the suspect, and had no record of him checking into the hotel.
