Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata strikes a gong on Jan. 23 outside Seattle City Hall. The gong was struck 3,772 times, each note an audible reminder of the number of unsheltered homeless people tallied in King County’s One Night Count. Licata was joined by Councilmember Bruce Harrell. On Jan. 28, the gong goes to Olympia, where the Committee to End Homelessness-King County will have its quarterly meeting. Advocates for homeless people say they want legislators to find revenue to help fund housing and social services.
