While harvesting red caviar in Alaska, Reginold injured his wrist, later developing chronic tendinitis. It was bound to happen: laboring 18 hours a day, 7 days a week with few breaks in between may produce a good yield, but it doesn't create a safe working environment.
"You're playing a game where you might get injured," Reginold says of his experience. "So it's best to be able to have some other things that you can do."
After hurting his wrist, he did just that. Leaving the world of factory trawlers, canneries, and fishing boats, Reginold moved to Anchorage to work in sales -- a job that gave him an advantage once he finally started selling Real Change.
"I was selling 300 papers a month before I even knew it," he laughs.
Successful salespersons need to be both outgoing and friendly, and Reginold is both. But he doesn't do it just to make a buck; that's his personality. That's why he's so well known at his selling spot: Specialty's Caf
