I really liked your coverage of the first anniversary of the Occupy movement. Alex Garland's piece about his photographs of the movement was well-written, but the end was disappointing. I mean, it's great that the Occupy movement helped him find himself as a photographer on the streets and in the media. And the story of his experience of police violence and the subsequent police lies is crucial. But it's strange to end the story with (I paraphrase), and best of all, the Occupy Movement helped me become a photographer! The article would have reflected the spirit of the movement better if it had ended the other way around: I am a photographer who helped define Occupy Seattle and the movement for a better world.
