Women in Black will hold a vigil from noon to 1 p.m. March 14 in remembrance of four homeless people who died outside in recent weeks.
The group will stand in front of the municipal courthouse at 5th and Cherry in honor of Sharon Fay, John Filipietz, Jeffery Inman and Alpha Lake Rajai.
Fay, 53, was a member of the DESC shelter community. She died March 3 at the James Street exit ramp to I-5. The cause of her death has not been released.
Filipietz, 52, died Feb. 14 near MOHAI, 2700 24th Ave. The cause of his death is also pending.
Inman, a veteran and member of God's Little Acre Community Church, was found dead March 7 at his sleeping spot in Lake City. The cause of Inman's death is pending.
Rajai, 59, was shot to death March 8 in Ravenna Park, according to a Seattle Times report.
In 2011, at least 30 homeless people died outside or by violence, according to Women in Black.
