Sat., April 10, 10:49 p.m., 14th Avenue South. Officer was dispatched to an assault call at Operation Nightwatch. He arrived to find the victim across the street and the complainant/witness at Nightwatch. Victim was bleeding from the mouth and Seattle Fire Department arrived and advised officer that three of the victim's bottom teeth were loose and one was barely hanging on by the root. The victim stated that he was walking to Operation Nightwatch and that the suspect, an associate of his, was walking out and they exchanged words and the suspect punched him in the face hitting his chin and knocking his teeth loose. The suspect then ran across the street and left the scene, which was confirmed by the complainant/witness. Officers later stopped the suspect and read him his rights. Suspect admitted to punching the victim "because he deserved it" and was placed under arrest.
Fri., April 16, 2:34 a.m., 1-5 and Franklin Ave. E. Officer was dispatched to investigate a disturbance at Franklin Avenue under the freeway. The officer arrived and observed multiple individuals scattered underneath the I-5 overpass and heard a woman screaming and crying loudly. Officer located one of the complainants who was yelling, "He went that way," while at the same time pointing up the hill toward the homeless encampment. Officers traversed the hillside and a large fence blocked access to the victim. When the officer reached the victim, a transient female, her face and nose were bleeding. Victim was extremely intoxicated and had difficulty standing and understanding officer's questions. Victim stated two males had gotten into a "jealousy fight" over her, but then turned their aggression toward her. She said she was knocked to the ground where she was repeatedly punched and kicked. Officers escorted the victim down the hillside to an opening in the fence line where Seattle Fire Department (SFD) was waiting to administer first aid. SFD personnel stated the victim complained of pain to her right shoulder and ribs. Victim also stated that the two males live in the hillside encampment but left the scene before officers arrived. Officers conducted an area search with negative results and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Sat., April 17, 6:02 p.m., Union Gospel Mission, Second Avenue. Officer was working uniformed patrol and was dispatched to an assault call at the Union Gospel Mission on Second Avenue. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the victim who stated he was inside the Union Gospel Mission to eat a meal when he accidentally brushed past an unknown male. After that, another male punched the victim in the face. The group then began arguing and went outside together. Once outside, the victim and the two suspects walked toward the intersection of Second Avenue and South Washington Street where the suspects struck the victim several times and then left the area westbound on foot. The victim had blood on his lip but declined medical attention. The suspects were not located at the time of the report.
