Tues., Mar. 30, 4:45 p.m. Eighth Avenue. Victim was sleeping at a self-made camp next to a motel that is no longer in business. The motel is located on the east side of the 1600 block of Eighth Ave. Victim is a single-leg amputee and had his wheelchair sitting by as he slept under a covered area. He awoke to see the suspect running away with his wheelchair. Officers did perform an area search, but were unable to locate the suspect or the wheelchair. Victim requested he be returned to his camp.
Thurs., Apr. 8, 9:26 p.m. Second Avenue Extension South. Officer responded to 2nd Ave. Ext. S. to meet with the victim to investigate his complaint of a strong arm robbery. Investigation revealed that the victim, who resides at the Union Gospel Mission, was walking around the Pioneer Square area when he found himself standing in a parking lot by the Mission. An unknown male approached him and asked if he had any money. Apparently victim indicated he had some money in his jacket pocket, and the suspect took this opportunity to remove the five dollar bills victim had in there. Suspect then walked off in an unknown direction, and police searched for him for several blocks with no results. Victim said he was going to walk around and look for the suspect
