Wed., Dec. 23, 12:53 a.m., First Ave. S./S. Spokane St. Officers were dispatched to First Ave. S. and S. Spokane St. to investigate an alleged stabbing. Upon arrival they found the victim, a transient male, being treated by Seattle Fire Department (SFD) for a stab wound to his lower right arm. He had no ID on his person and verbally identified himself. A records check was done, and nothing was located concerning the victim. According to the witnesses they located the victim on the ground near First Ave. S. and S. Spokane St. They observed he was bleeding from the arm, and attempted to stop the bleeding by applying a compression bandage to the wound. They were successful in stopping the bleeding. SFD stated the two witnesses did an outstanding job of rendering first aid. Both witnesses stated they saw no suspects leaving the area. Both stated they were homeless and camp under the West Seattle bridge. They were familiar with the victim as he is also homeless and lives near them. At one point the victim stated that his assailant was a Native American female, and an area search was conducted with no results. An ambulance arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for further medical attention. SFD stated that the wound was around one inch long, but were unable to say how deep. The exact location of the assault was undetermined, and no weapon was found.
Fri., Dec. 25, 4:06 p.m., 15th Ave. NW/NW Market St. Officer on patrol was dispatched to a report of an assault in progress, described as being between a male and a female at the corner of 15th Ave. NW and NW Market St. The male was described as wearing a dark canvas jacket and hooded sweatshirt. Officer arrived and found a male matching the description of the suspect standing on the corner of the intersection. The suspect, a transient Native American male, was detained and identified. The victim, a transient Native American female, was located nearby. She stated she was hit in the face and stomach by the suspect. Suspect was arrested and read his rights and transported to King County Jail.
Sun., Dec. 27, 3:55 p.m., Third Ave./Pine St. Officers responded to a call of two males fighting at the corner of 3rd and Pike. When they arrived they found the victim, a transient male, bleeding from the nose and mouth area. He was asked what had happened, but did not want to talk about it. Unidentified witnesses stated that the victim was panhandling when the suspect approached him and asked him if he wanted to buy drugs. Victim refused, and the two began fighting. Victim would not tell officers any more details. Suspect was described and witnesses stated he was last seen going west on Pine St. Officers were unable to locate him at the scene. Officers called SFD to treat the victim at the scene, and due to the victim's age and nature of his injuries it was decided that he should be transported to Harborview Medical Center for further attention.
