Tues., Dec. 1, 4:00 p.m., NW Market St. Victim and suspect, who have been friends for several years, went out back in the parking lot of the Stone Gardens Climbing Gym on NW Market to drink some beers. They got into an argument and then the suspect ended up hitting the victim with his fist in the face. Suspect then pulled out a six- to nine-inch knife and started swinging it at him. There were no injuries. Both victim and suspect are homeless and have no phone, and hang out in the Ballard area.
Wed., Dec. 2, 10:20 p.m., Pine St. Victim stated he was sitting on the sidewalk in front of Old Navy looking for spare change. Several other homeless "spare changers" came up to him and began talking to him. Victim stated that one of the unknown suspects suddenly kicked him in the ribs. The suspects left in an unknown direction, and victim was unable to provide any further description of the suspects. Victim was very intoxicated and could not provide any further details. He was treated at the scene by Seattle Fire Department.
Fri., Dec. 4, 1:30 a.m., Second Ave./Yesler Way. Officer was flagged down by a citizen at the intersection of First Ave. and Yesler Way. Officer spoke to the victim, a transient black female aged 50. She had an obvious injury to her mouth -- the officer immediately noticed that she had a swollen lip and blood on the inside of her mouth. She identified herself and began to hyperventilate and mentioned her high blood pressure. She stated she was walking on Second and Yesler when a slim built male walked up to her and told her he wanted his money, "His five dollars." He then punched her in the face with his fist. Victim stated that the suspect did not get any property or money from her, and that she had never seen him before, but she would recognize him if she saw him again. She declined transportation to Harborview Medical Center, and refused any further medical attention.
Sat., Dec. 5, 10:20 p.m,. NE 65th St. Officer was on patrol when he was dispatched to NE 65th to a report of an assault. After arriving he was unable to locate the victim, and the call was cleared. About 40 minutes later the victim, a transient male, called again and stated he had had to leave the area, but was back and wished to make a report. Officer contacted victim and observed a laceration on the bridge of his nose. Victim stated he had been begging in the 1000 block of NE 65th when the suspect approached him and they got into a verbal exchange about his begging. Suspect hit him in the nose with his head and left on foot. Victim declined medical attention and was unsure if he could identify the suspect again.
