Tues., June 30, 9:04 p.m. Evanston Avenue N. Complainant phoned 911 to report that her friend had called her to say he was going to end his life, and then had hung up the phone. She advised that he had been depressed and had been threatening suicide over the past two weeks due to a variety of life issues. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim, a white male aged 30. He was clearly depressed, and admitted he had been up on the railing of the Aurora Bridge 30 minutes prior. He had been intent on jumping, but then changed his mind. He said that he was in alcohol and drug recovery, and had been evicted from his apartment. He also stated that he was legally blind, and admitted he needed help. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.
Wed., July 1, 12:30 a.m., Arch Place SW. At approximately 12:30 a.m., complainant and victim were at complainant's residence at Arch Place SW. The complainant stated he believed that the victim, a white female aged 47, appeared depressed. She then proceeded to consume around 20 tablets of aspirin while complainant was present. Victim then went outside. Complainant followed her and called 911. Complainant managed to detain the victim at Walnut Ave SW, where they were met by Seattle Fire, who treated the victim at the scene. Officers arrived and the complainant said he had met the victim a few days ago, and allowed her to stay with him at his residence as she was homeless. He also said she is undergoing mental health treatment and may have a drinking problem. Victim was transported to Harborview for a mental health evaluation.
Thurs., July 2, 2 p.m., 12th Ave S. Victim, a transient white female aged 22, flagged officers down on S. Jackson St. She stated that she was standing at the bus stop in the 400 block of 12th Ave when she was approached by the suspect, an unknown black male. He offered to give her drugs for sex, and when she declined the offer he grabbed her and dragged her into the parking lot behind the bus stop. He pulled her behind a parked van and forcibly had intercourse with her. When he had completed his attack he fled the scene on foot, and left behind several items of clothing. Victim flagged down the first police car she saw to report the incident. During the investigation the crime scene was located. The scene was photographed and several items were collected for evidence, including several items of clothing, the victim's bra, and her sunglasses. Victim was transported to Harborview for medical treatment. An area check for the suspect proved negative.
