Thurs., June 4, 12:28 a.m., Broadway Ave. / E. Harrison St. Officer was dispatched to a call of a person down on the corner of Broadway E. and E. Harrison. The subject, a transient black female, was mental and intoxicated. Detox had responded to the scene to transport her to the Sobering Center, but subject refused to go, and was refusing any assistance. Another call was received regarding the same subject at 10:40 -- she was still lying on the ground at the same location, and once again refused assistance. A few minutes later officer received a call of a hit and run at the same location. He arrived and contacted witness, who pointed out the subject as the person who had stumbled into traffic and was possibly hit by a car. Witness heard a collision, but was unclear as to what actually happened. The subject denied she had been hit by a car, but was also unable to form coherent responses to simple questions. It was determined she was unable to care for herself at the time, and she was detained and transported to Harborview Medical Center for an evaluation.
Fri., June 5, 8:03 p.m., Third Ave./Pike St. Officer was dispatched to a disturbance on Seventh and Pine. He was approached on Third and Pike by the subject, who told him that someone was after him and was trying to kidnap him. Subject, a transient white male aged 38, said that the clothes he had on were not his, and neither were his arms. He said that he was paranoid schizophrenic, and kept asking for assistance and flailing his arms. Officer called Seattle Fire for medical assistance. Seattle Fire arrived and called an ambulance -- subject was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Sat., June 6, 4:38 p.m., Thomas St. Subject, a white female aged 19 was observed loitering on Thomas St. This is an area of high prostitution activity, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. Subject was wearing a very short skirt and was looking into the cars that drove by her. This led the officer to believe that subject was an active prostitute and was attempting to engage the drivers of the vehicles. She was contacted, and gave her name and date of birth, but could not provide ID. She stated she was 19, but looked very young. She said she had no permanent address, and stayed in the hotels along Aurora Ave. A name check showed no record, and officer was worried she was giving him false information. Subject provided the phone number of a relative who verified subject's name and age. They stated that they were very concerned for subject's safety, and that subject had said she was being held against her will and forced to work the streets. Subject stated that she was never held against her will, but was planning on going to Oregon tomorrow. She was arrested, interviewed and released with a warning for prostitution loitering.
