Thurs., June 12, 2:05 p.m., Westlake Park. Officer was patrolling on Fourth Avenue and Pine Street when he was contacted by complainant who pointed out a female in Westlake Park and advised that she was a runaway from Shelton, Washington. Complainant gave the officer her name and date of birth. The officer contacted the 17-year-old female and advised that he was aware that she was a runway and that the complainant was there to take her home. She acknowledged that she was a runaway and it was confirmed by radio that she was entered as a runaway on June 3 by the Mason County Sheriff's Office. Suspect was released to the complainant at the scene and they left together.
Mon., June 16, 7:40 a.m., S. Dearborn Street. Victim, a 42-year-old Black male transient, stated that he recently arrived in Seattle and obtained a temporary job at a manual labor firm. On Saturday, he obtained a temp job and left for the site at approximately 9 a.m. He and the other men left their personal belongings in an office area and when the job was completed, he was unable to return to retrieve his belongings. On Monday, he retrieved his bag but found his wallet and other personal items missing. The room was easily accessible and unsecure, and victim believed that one of the men working with him may have been able to steal his items before the office closed.
Mon., June 16, 11:01 p.m., Eighth Avenue and Virginia Street. At 10:55, the officer observed a 29-year-old Native American transient sleeping on the property at the front doors of the West Precinct. When the officer returned to the location, the suspect was still sleeping next to the front doors. The officer told the suspect that he was trespassing and needed to leave the area. Suspect stated that he was not going to leave and the officer warned him that he will be arrested for trespassing if he does not leave the location. Suspect stood up and said he was not leaving because he wanted to go to jail. The officer escorted him from the property, but the suspect walked back up the sidewalk and towards the front doors. Suspect was arrested for trespassing.
Wed., June 18, 12:53 a.m., South King Street. Officer was in a patrol car and observed suspect, a 51-year-old Asian transient, trespassing on DOT property under the I-5 overpass near South King Street. Officer contacted the suspect and ran a records check, which returned with a felony warrant. The warrant was verified by radio and suspect was taken into custody. Suspect was read his Miranda warnings and booked into King County Jail.
