Sat., July 19, 2:26 p.m., Eighth Ave. NW/NW 95th St. Police were contacted via a 911 call to investigate suspicious activity at the listed location. A name check of the suspects, two transient white males aged 39 and 35, showed both had outstanding warrants. These were verified via radio, and both suspects were arrested and booked into King County Jail.
Sat., July 19, 5:23 p.m., SW Webster St. Witness called 911 to report that someone was in the bushes across the street from his home. He thought that they were trying to light the grass on fire. Officers arrived and contacted subject, a transient white female aged 28, sleeping under some bushes. Subject stated she did not know how she got there, and said that the last thing she remembers was being in British Columbia, and then awakening here. She was also talking about having been assaulted by aliens, and said she was depressed because she thought her daughter might be dead, but she wasn't sure. Officers called an ambulance to the scene, and they arrived and transported subject to Harborview for a mental health evaluation.
Sat., July 19, 7:58 p.m., Harrison St., Center House. Officers were on bicycle patrol on the Seattle Center grounds when they observed suspect, a transient white male aged 35, sleeping on the curb wall at the intersection of Thomas St. and Third Ave. N. pathways. One officer recognized suspect from the previous day, when he had contacted suspect in the same area. He had checked the suspect's name via his BlackBerry and found an outstanding Department of Corrections (DOC) warrant. At that time suspect was issued a citation for drinking in public; based on the level of his intoxication it was decided not to arrest him. He was warned not to re-enter the Seattle Center grounds for five days, issued a trespass citation, and ordered to turn himself in to the DOC in the morning. When officers encountered him today they verified the trespass admonishment via radio, and suspect was arrested. He was transported to King County detention and booked for the outstanding warrant.
Sat., July 19, 12:59 p.m., Spruce St. On listed date and time staff at Spruce Street Inn, a secure crisis residential shelter for runaway or street youth, called 911 to report a juvenile was outside who stated that her group home would not accept her, and she needed to be placed in their facility. Officers responded and contacted the subject who stated she ran away from her group home yesterday. When she tried to return today they told her they had already given her bed to someone else and would not accept her. They advised her to go to Spruce Street. A name check showed she was listed as a runaway/missing person on Friday July 18. The missing person hit was verified by radio, and subject was escorted into Spruce Street Inn and admitted.
