Another year, another Grinch award. On Dec. 23, activists with Seattle's Jobs with Justice tried to present the dubious honor to Jennifer McCausland without luck: the executive director of the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra wasn't in.
JWJ says McCausland deserves the award for poor management. At a time of falling funding, the group says, she budgeted a big raise for herself, has
forced dozens of players to re-audition each year to keep their jobs and refused to recognize the musicians' union.
Past Grinches have included former U.S. Sen. Slade Gorton, Darigold chief Josh Mueller, and University of Washington President Richard McCormick.
