It's that time of the year again... Sleigh bells are ringing. People are jolly. The cold air is blowing its way in just in time for the holidays... and the city continues to run people from their camps and confiscate their belongings.
Please join us on December 16 for our fourth camp-out at City Hall in protest of the sweeps. Festivities start at 6 and continue all night. We will have speakers, music and food. First thing in the morning, we'll be holding a survival gear give-away, providing tents, sleeping bags, tarps and warm clothes to those affected by the sweeps.
Every night after the shelters are full, literally thousands people are left out on the streets. Until adequate shelter is created, homeless people have to do everything they can to keep warm and survive. With temperatures dropping and sweeps continuing, our homeless population needs survival gear more than ever.
If you can't make it out to City Hall, you can still join us by donating. Giving is a matter of survival: this winter, donate to keep someone warm and help him/her survive the winter.
We are asking for tents, sleeping bags, tarps, blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. Please drop off any donations to Real Change at 2129 Second Ave., Seattle, WA 98121. Or drop gear off at City Hall (4th Ave. & James St.) on December 16th!
