Olympia 2007: Now More Than Ever
- Issue: The Washington State Legislature convenes in early January for a 105-day session in which they will write the next two-year budget. They’re expecting a $46.6 million surplus by June 2009, and Democrats in both the House and the Senate significantly strengthened their majorities in the last election. This year, they have a better chance than ever to move a progressive agenda that can include expanding affordable housing across the state and reducing homelessness.
