- Picture: On November 11, 2000, more than 30 members of The Tenants Union descended on the Kirkland home of Apartment Association of Seattle-King County President Paul Birkeland to get him to sign a pledge again no-cause evictions. While landlords in Seattle have to provide a reason before evicting a tenant, this is not the law statewide. Moreover, in recent years AASK has supported state legislation that would override Seattle's tenant protections.
